Jean Austin was born on July 11, 1939, in Haywood County to Archie Austin and Mae Wright Austin. She was educated in Haywood County and enjoyed serving and loving this community. Her interests were as varied as her talents. She took great pride in working in the family business at Austin Furniture. Serving the needs of the customer was one of her greatest joys. She loved the Lord and served him faithfully at Brownsville Baptist Church. Recognized and appreciated for her genuine work with benevolence and giving to others, she wanted to make sure people had what they needed in their lives. She loved playing the piano and enjoyed music. However, Jean’s proudest accomplishments were her beloved family. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with a heartfelt love that knew no bounds.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Austin of Brownsville, TN, Todd Austin of Brownsville, TN, Will Austin (Kristie) of White House, TN, Joshua Austin of Brownsville, TN; one sister, Geraldine Parimore of Millington, TN, and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Austin, who passed away on March 2, 1985, and one son, Greg Austin; her parents, Archie Austin and Mae Wright Austin, one brother, Harold Austin; and one sister, Betty Alexander.

Pallbearers for the service will be Todd Austin, Mark Austin, Jr., Will Austin, Josh Austin, Michael Snyder and Ervin Hall.
