Martha's Obituary Brownsville, TN – Mrs. Martha Frances Hendrix, age 90, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at her residence. She was born on February 18, 1926 in Haywood County to the late Mr. James Roy Smith, Sr and Lela Frances Arnold Smith. Mrs. Hendrix was a loving mother, wife and member of the First Assembly of God in Brownsville, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Roy Smith, Jr and two sisters: Melba Smith and Katherine Milam. Mrs. Hendrix is survived by her husband, Mr. Jesse Lee Hendrix; two sons: Dewayne Hendrix and his wife Martha Jean and Ernest W. Hendrix and his wife Teresa, all of Brownsville, TN. Four daughters: Janette Campbell and her husband Robert of Somerville, TN; Sue Bennard and her husband Chuck of Brighton, TN; Patsy Morgan of Brownsville, TN and Valerie Sills and her husband Daryl of Jackson, TN; three sisters: Syble Lott, Genrose Hopper and Betty Johnson all of Brownsville, TN. She leaves a legacy of 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Hendrix also leaves her special friend and caregiver of almost twelve years, Kay Gary of Brownsville and her special little “fur babies”, Princess, Rocko, Button and Millie. Pallbearers will be Brian Bennard, Micah Bennard, Jeff Bennard, Hunter Campbell, Chris Sills and Justin Sills. Funeral services for Mrs. Hendrix will be conducted on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. The Hendrix family will receive friends on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Brownsville Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at 2:00PM.
