Marion Calvin Thomas, Jr., age 87 passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Crestview Health Center. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, March 24, 2011 in the Brownsville Baptist Church with visitation from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. Entombment will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A visitation will be Wednesday evening, March 23, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Thomas was a WWII veteran, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Road Commissioner for Haywood County and a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Brownsville Baptist Church. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents: Marion Calvin Thomas Sr. and Eva May Joyner. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife: Helen Thomas, Brownsville, TN; two sons: Bob Thomas (Beckye), Knoxville, TN and John Thomas (Gay), Brownsville, TN; one brother: Lloyd Thomas (Janie), Brownsville, TN; one sister: Marie Outlaw (Allen), Brownsville, TN and one grandson: Brandon Thomas, Knoxville, TN.
