Marie's Obituary
Mrs. Marie Haase age 80 of Whiteville, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 in Bolivar General Hospital.
She was born September 3, 1937 in Haywood County to the late William Elrod and Mamie Dale Moore Elrod. Mrs. Haase was a retired factory employee and member of Midway Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers, Opal Phillips, Ann Young, Richard Elrod, Odis Elrod, Billy Elrod, Carl Elrod and Doris Elrod.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Robert Haase of Whiteville; son, Donald Haase of Whiteville; daughter, Deborah Lewis and husband Gerald of Whiteville; three sisters, Nadine Crook of Collierville, Mamie Sue Watson of Whiteville and Liz Norwood of Stanton; two brothers, Ted Elrod and James Elrod both of Whiteville. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Heather Bufford, Toni Haase and Brandi Haase.
Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Baggett, Michael Elrod, Timmy Lewis, David Haase, Dane Norwood, Troy Fergie, Mike Messer and James Elrod.
Funeral services for Mrs. Haase were conducted Monday, December 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. David Reeves and Bro. Alan McCall officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Haase family received friends on Sunday at the Brownsville Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be directed to Midway Baptist Church or to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in memory of Mrs. Haase.
