Marian Louise Carraway

Marian Louise Laster Carraway passed away on Monday, July 22, in the Crestview Healthcare Center in Brownsville, Tn., at the age of 90.  She was born July 12, 1929, in Madison County and was reared and resided in Brownsville. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, at 10:00 at Brownsville Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 11:00 and entombment to follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Bro. Bob Connerley will officiate the service.

            Mrs. Carraway worked many years as a bookkeeper for several businesses. She was a faithful member of Brownsville Baptist Church and was very active in many of its ministries until her health declined in the last two years. She loved her Lord, her family and friends, and her church and dedicated many years of service in the Hispanic ministry and the Women’s Ministry.

            She is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, Richard Carraway; a son, Richard Carraway, Jr. (Betty) of Dyersburg; three grandsons, Robert Carraway (Shannon), Bill Bradshaw (Christie), and Brad Carraway (Julie); nine great-grandchildren, Patrick, Marshall, Graham, Bella Grace, and Anna Claire Carraway, Lily and Emma Bradshaw, and Hannah and Chloe Carraway; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Lou Emma Laster; a daughter, Linda Susan Carraway; one sister, Mildred Duke; and two brothers, Billy Laster and Bobby Laster.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Women’s Ministry Care and Encouragement Group, C/O Brownsville Baptist Church, 5 Wilson Avenue, Brownsville, Tn.  38012
