Mrs. Rose Margaret McLean Dyer, age 89 passed away in her Monroe Avenue home of 60 years on Wednesday, November 24, 2010.
Mrs. Dyer was a retired school teacher of over 30 years with the Haywood County School System. She was a longstanding member of Brownsville Baptist Church, where she sang in the Choir and taught Sunday School. She was a Board member for Habitat for Humanity, member of the ADK sorority, was voted Educator of the Year, and volunteered for Headstart in Brownsville. She directed numerous school and local theater productions.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, November 28 in the Brownsville Baptist Church with Dr. H.K. Sorrell and Rev. Bob Connerley officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, November 27 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM and Sunday from 1:30 - 2:30 PM at the Brownsville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dyer was preceded in death by her husband: Leslie Monroe Dyer; her brother: Harold McLean; her sister: Melba McLean Riddick and her niece: Margaret Janice Riddick Privette.
She is survived by her son: Leslie Mark Dyer, Brownsville, TN; her daughter: Donna Dyer Leigh, Ringgold, GA; three granddaughters: Leslie Margaret Daniel (David), Lori Beth Leigh and Lindsay Elizabeth Leigh; and three nephews: Joseph McLean Riddick, Neal Riddick and Bill Privette.
