Lucion Ricks English

Mr. Lucion Ricks English, age 80, passed away at his home on Friday, February 9, 2018. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church. Lucion served in Law Enforcement for the State of Tennessee for 30 years with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, after retirement, he served for 6 years as the Brownsville Police Chief then worked with the United States Marshall Service. He also served in the United States Army. He was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and the Ed Worsham Masonic Lodge #505. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucion B. English and Linnie Bell Stanley English, one brother, Charles Andrew English and one sister, Lynette English Dickinson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Hopkins English, Brownsville, TN, two daughters, Andrea Smothers (Mike), Brownsville, TN, Alicia English, Jackson, TN, two sisters, Hollie Springs (Peyton), Bartlett, TN and Rosemary English, Brownsville, TN and two grandchildren, Alaina and Hunter Smothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Cemetery, c/o Mary Jane Baggett, 74 Tibbs-Forked Deer Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012 or the First United Methodist Church, 117 E. Franklin St., Brownsville, TN 38012.
