Lillie Mae (Sister) Leavy Sangster, was born March 20, 1946 in Stanton, TN, USA. She was the eighth of ten children born to Mr. and Mrs. Perry and Irene Leavy.
Lillie gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Stanton, TN where she was a member when she departed this life. She was blessed with an anointed voice which she used to bless others while singing for the Lord.
Lillie attended school in the Haywood County School System. She graduated from Carver High School, Class of 1966.
Shortly after High School, Lillie united in Holy Matrimony to Louis Chester Sangster. This union brought five beautiful children: Curtis Louis Sangster of Murray, NC; Sylvia Mae Sangster of Stanton, TN; Joseph L. Sangster of Killeen, TX; Jacqueline Laselle Sangster of Brownsville, TN and Michelle Sangster of Stanton, TN.
Lillie was called to go home with the Lord, Friday, August 3, 2012. She Heard his voice and she accepted his call. She leaves to cherish her memories, five children, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers: Curtis (Dessalene) Leavy and L.C. Leavy of Stanton, a sister-in-law, Imogene Leavy of Memphis, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Lorine Johnson and brothers: John Lee Leavy, Morris Leavy, Lawrence (Floyd) Leavy, Robert Leavy, Raymond Leavy and AD Leavy.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Wesley Cemetery in Stanton, TN.
