Lawrence Lee Tyus, Sr., age 56 passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 12 noon in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation for the Tyus family will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11 AM until service time at 12:00. Mr. Tyus was preceded in death by his parents: Curtis and Iola Wellington Tyus, Sr., his son: Lawrence Lee Tyus, Jr. and his daughter: Kamicka Nichelson. He is survived by his children: Christopher Tyus, Knoxville, TN, Joshua Tyus, Marie Byars, Patrice Tyus, Son-In-Heart: Jamarcus Tyus all of Brownsville, TN and Lisa Tyus, San Antonio, TX, his brothers: Curtis Tyus, Jr., Brownsville, TN, Steven Tyus, Nashville, TN, his sisters: Vernadine Sales, Detroit, MI, Toreaser Steele, San Antonio, TX, Louise Kearney, Alamo, TN, Ola B. Tyus, Mary Crook, Doris Owens, Sylvia McLemore and Nadine Slayton all of Brownsville, TN, seven grandchildren: Vivian Keasia, Jealia Tyus, Dale Clayborn, III, Dreshauna Tyus, Joshua Tyus and Ozzie Somerville.
