Laura Jo Stewart Cozart

Mrs. Laura Jo Stewart Cozart, age 89 passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mrs. Laura Jo was a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church and now a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. She was an Office Supervisor for the Haywood County Health Department. Mrs. Cozart was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James Roland Cozart, her parents, Floyd and Hattie Dezern Stewart, three brothers: Pete Stewart, William Stewart, Jimmy Stewart and one sister, Virginia Stewart Tritt. She is survived by three sons: Jerry Cozart, James R. Cozart, Jr., (Adela), both of Brownsville, TN, Joe Cozart (Effie), Collierville, TN, four grandchildren: Zara Elizabeth Cozart, Jeff Cozart, Jesse Cozart, Laura Grace Cozart and one great-grandchild, Josh Cozart and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, 7168 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD 21046 or the charity of choice.
