Larry Dennis Vaughn

Larry Dennis (Denny) Vaughn, age 75, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.  All services are under the direction of the Bells Funeral Home.

Denny was born in Jackson, IL, on March 25, 1947, to the late Larry Lee Vaughn and Beverly Fletcher Vaughn-White.  He retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections as a Chief Engineer.  He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.  Denny had a strong belief in God and attended High Point Church and Southern Range Cowboy Church in Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of over 38 years:  Brenda McConnell Vaughn of Jackson, TN;  his stepmother:  Peggy Anderson of Goreville, IL; two sons:  Scott Vaughn (Dawn) of Peoria, IL, Todd Vaughn (Diane) of Marion, IL; three daughters:  Monica Neal of Olive Branch, MS, Stephanie Harrison (David) of Temple, TX, Lesli Fiorentini (Joel) of Metropolis, IL; two brothers:  Larry Lee Vaughn Jr. (Kim) and Dennis Vaughn; two sisters:  Linda Key (Terry) and Cindy Wheaton (Ronnie Beshears) all of Goreville, IL and a maternal cousin:  Gary Sarff (Carol) of Easton, IL;  He leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren (Caleb, Callie, Corbin, Corey (Samantha), Aly, Sophia, Cody and Collin) and two great-grandchildren:  Brody and Seth; one great-great grandchild:  Emaleigh.

The family is honoring Denny's wishes for cremation.  In lieu of a public service, if you would like to honor him, donations can be made in his name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
