Kenneth's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Carl Sargent age 87 of Brownsville, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born December 1, 1929 in New Madrid, MO to the late Vernon W. Sargent and Della F. Johnson Sargent. Mr. Sargent was a retired mechanic, proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of Bethel Community Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Howard Sargent, Doyle Sargent and Lorene Sargent.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Bettye Kendrick Sargent; special nieces, Linda Ellington (Doyle), Rhonda Parks (Jim), Wendy Landers (Reece), Kathy Fuller (Glenn) and a host of additional nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Jay Kendrick, Randy Kendrick, Kelly Kendrick, Mark Kendrick, Kenny Kendrick and Brian Kendrick. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Ellington, Jason Ellington, Troy Ferrell, Heath Pigue, Dereck Pigue, Brad Kendrick, Justin McAlpin and Jeremy McAlpin.
Funeral services for Mr. Sargent will be conducted Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Kendrick and Bro. Bob Connerley officiating. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Sargent family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Bethel Community Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Mr. Sargent.
