Judy Sims Tripp, age 67, a resident of Brownsville, TN, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Brownsville, TN, with Rev. Sammy Tillman officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening, September 9, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Brownsville, TN from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
Judy Sims Tripp was born on September 16, 1956, in Fort Stewart, GA to James and Helen Owens Sims. She was the Secretary-Treasurer for their family business, Tripp Country Hams. She was blessed with an amazing family and took such pride in loving and caring for them. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family and friends. Spending time outside by the pool looking at her flowers and the hummingbirds, sometimes even with a good drink brought her joy. Her daily greeting from her bulldogs brought a smile to her face.
Judy worked diligently throughout her life whether at the plant or around the house. She was known for her cooking and creating meals that satisfied the soul and brought the family together. The Christmas season was especially meaningful to her seeing the love and joy the holidays brought. Judy had the ability to warm any room with her big blue eyes and her bright smile. She cared tirelessly for those who surrounded her. She loved from her heart and cared deeply for those around her.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Tripp, Jr. of Brownsville, TN; two daughters, Julie Hooper (Hunter) of Brownsville, TN, and Jennifer Vandiver (Adam) of Jackson, TN; one sister, Ruth Ann Meales (Glenn) of Medina, TN. She leaves a legacy of love for her four grandchildren, Tripp Hooper, Anabeth Hooper, Addison Vandiver and Emma Vandiver. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Owens Sims.
Pallbearers for the service will be Billy Tripp, Bob Tripp, Carlton Veirs, Hunter Hooper, Adam Vandiver and Tripp Hooper.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial be made to the First United Methodist Church, 117 E. Franklin Street, Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Brownsville Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
