Judy Shelton Joyner, aged 81, of Brownsville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2025, at the Haywood County Community Hospital. Born on January 3, 1944, in Haywood County, Judy lived a life marked by her unwavering faith and love for her family. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at the Providence Cemetery in Jackson, TN. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
A dedicated Christian, Judy found great solace in her faith, which was reflected in her daily routine and the values she instilled in those around her. She had a profound passion for reading her Bible, drawing inspiration and strength from its teachings throughout her life.
Judy enriched her family's lives through her love of cooking and her affection for cats, making her home a warm and welcoming space filled with laughter and good memories. Her career included valuable experience as a Clerk at the Jackson Clinic, and being with Semmes Murphy, where she retired.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Ray Joyner of Brownsville, TN, and her two sons, Randy Joyner, also of Brownsville, and Steve Joyner (Vickie) of Georgetown, KY. Her legacy will continue through her six grandchildren: Emilee Shelton Joyner, Russ Joyner, Baker Joyner, Archer Joyner, Travis Elrod, and Whitney Elrod Willingham (Jared), along with her four cherished great-grandchildren: Brayden Willingham, Branson Willingham, Bradley Willingham, and Caleb Elrod. Judy is also lovingly remembered by her dear friend, Dottie Taylor, who shared in many cherished moments of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Vera Overton Shelton, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life.
Judy Shelton Joyner leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Mark Outlaw, Matt Outlaw, Keith Simpson, Jim Davis, Russ Joyner and Baker Joyner.
