Josh Aaron Pilgrim, 38 died Monday July 10, 2017 in Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama.
Josh was born July 5, 1979 in Yuma, Arizona to David and Michele Self Pilgrim. He lived in Brownsville and later in Nashville. He attended Hillwood High School and found a love of soccer. He played on the school team and worked weekends as a soccer referee for TSAA and the YMCA. He also attended Middle Tennessee State University. Josh was self -employed as an automotive reconditioning specialist.
Josh was known for his infectious smile, great sense of humor, crazy shenanigans and generous heart. Life was always a little brighter and filled with laughter when he was around. He had a profound love for his daughter, Jada, and his “sweet” Kacie. He valued every moment he could spend with his beloved family. In his final act of kindness, Josh gave of himself through organ donation.
Josh was preceded in death by his mother: Michele Self McCarver; paternal grandmother: Hazel Dean Holden and maternal grandfather: Odell Self.
Serving as pallbearers are Jared Pilgrim, Justin Chavers, Samuel McCarver, Joe Wilson, Justin Graff. Honorary pallbearers are Jamie Pilgrim, Robbie Pena, Jacob Christopher, Scott Stephenson and Bradley Smith.
He is survived by his daughter: Jada Pilgrim of Nashville, TN, father: David Pilgrim (Debbie) of Franklin, TN., his loving companion Kacie Bingham of Franklin, TN., maternal grandmother: Edna King, Stanton, TN., paternal grandfather: Master Chief Jerome Pilgrim (USN RET) Springtown, TX., one sister: Amanda Pilgrim, five brothers: Jared Pilgrim, Joseph Pilgrim, Christopher Pilgrim, Jamie Pilgrim and Samuel McCarver, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Saturday July 22, 2017 at 2 pm with Reverend Lonnie Robinson officiating. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens.
