Josephine Willis

Mrs. Josephine Read Moses Willis, age 84 passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Crestview Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation for the Willis family will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015, 11:00 - 1:00 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Willis received a teaching degree from Memphis State and taught school for one year before becoming a homemaker. She was a loyal member of the Brownsville First United Methodist Church where she was a longtime member of the choir. She was also a member of the Trinity Cemetery Association. She was active and held many offices in the local and district United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband: Tommy Benjamin Willis, Sr., two sons: Tommy Benjamin Willis, Jr., Daniel Read Willis, one daughter: Betty Walker Willis, her parents: John Ware Moses, Jr. and Ethel Freeman Moses and a sister: Mary Ann Moses Mayer. She is survived by her son: John Herbert Willis, wife: Janet Reed Willis, Brownsville, TN, two granddaughters: Martha Josephine Williams, her husband: Duke, Brownsville, TN, Kelly Rodgers, her husband: Hunter, two great grandchildren: Ava Reed Rodgers and Worth Willis Rodgers all of Brentwood, Tennessee and one brother: John Ware "Buddy" Moses, III of Brownsville, TN.
