Joseph's Obituary
Mr. Joseph Ray Joyner, age 72 of Slayden, Mississippi, formerly of Haywood County, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Regional One in Memphis, TN.
Joseph was born on December 8, 1944 to the late Edgar Joyner and wife, Lenar Morris Joyner. Mr. Joyner served our country in the United States Army. He was also a retired security guard.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny Joyner and Cletus Joyner.
He is survived by a son Enzo Joyner of Tipton County, TN, Joseph Joyner, Jr of Ohio and John Rodney Joyner of MS; a daughter, Mary Craig of Atoka; four brothers, Donald Joyner of WI, Edgar Joyner of Slayden, MS, Jack Joyner of Moscow, TN and Andrew Joyner of Olive Branch, MS; five sisters, Mary Joyner Duke of SC, Frances Harris of Drummonds, Carolyn Edwards of Red Banks, MS, Patricia Hurtle of Slayden, MS and Barbara Fowler of Covington, TN; five grandchildren, Jennifer Joyner Hopkins, Krystal Stine, Enzo Joyner, Jr. Matthew Craig and Maria Craig; and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Ray Joyner will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Brownsville Funeral Home. Burial will be in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
