Jordan Bruce

Mr. Jordan Bruce, age 94 passed away in the Methodist Fayette Hospital in Somerville, TN on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wilson and Rev. Bill Evans officiating. Entombment will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday, April 8, 2011 from 5-7 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with a Service of Tribute at 7 P.M. Mr. Bruce was a lifelong member of the church that he and his father built, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and built the home they have today in Whiteville. He was a charter member of the Brownsville Moose Lodge #2222 joining in 1969. He was honorary past president of the Tennessee Moose Association and honorary past governor of the Brownsville Moose Lodge. Through the years he served on appointed and elected chairs of various degrees. He received his Legion Degree, Fellowship Degree and the highest elevated degree, the Pilgram Degree through Moose International. Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents: William Henry and Daisy Hill Bruce and three brothers: Herbert Bruce, Horace Bruce and Lester Bruce. He is survived by his wife: Carol Glover Bruce, Brownsville, TN, one son: Randall Bruce, one daughter: Melanie Barnes (James), one grandson: Dean Barnes all of Olive Branch, MS; one brother: Charlie Hill Bruce, Paris, TN and a sister in law, Willie Mae Bruce, Paris, TN.
