Johnny Walden Clemons, age 73, a resident of Brownsville, TN, departed this life Monday, January 31, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the First Assembly of God Church in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Jamie Howell and Bro. Leonard Byrum officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the church. The burial will be private.
Johnny was born on July 3, 1948, to Millard and Harriette Clemons. He worked over 26 years as an IT Specialist with Dynametal Technologies in Brownsville, TN. He served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force for seven years. He was a dedicated servant and warrior for Jesus Christ. He was a deacon and long time Sunday School teacher at First Assembly of God Church. He served in the jail ministry of Haywood County for over 35 years and was the head clergy for 25 years. He loved the Lord and loved sharing the Gospel with others.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mitsy Pinson Clemons of Brownsville, TN; one son, Jeffrey Walden Clemons of Denver, CO; two daughters, Kristin Renae Clemons of Denver, CO and Jennifer Melinda Rogers of Nashville, TN; two step-sons, Ricky Collum (Susan) of Bartlett, TN and Ronnie (Carla) Collum of Mississippi, along with their children; one brother, Mitch Clemons (Julie) of Louisville, KY. He leaves a legacy of grandchildren, Zachery Clemons, Jhaeyden Clemons, Lillian Clemons, Ryan Rogers, Riley Rogers and Robyn Rogers.
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Walden Clemons and Harriette Tucker Clemons; one son, Eric Rogers; three sisters, Sharon Cleveland, Carole Harvey and Lynda Scates.
Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, 700 N. Dupree Ave., Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
