Mr. Johnnie Lane Towles was born on June 6, 1928, to the late William Shepherd and Viola Hunt Towles. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, December 7, 2013 in the Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church in Somerville, TN with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, December 6, 2013 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. He leaves to cherish his memory Mary Towles (step-mother) of Hermitage, TN, one son; Willie F. (Faye) Bryant of Grand Junction, TN, four nieces he raised as his daughters, Dr. Eva Harris of Decatur, GA, Rubystein (Andrew) Carnes of Louisa, VA, Regina Reaves of Brownsville, TN and Wanda Carnes of Hermitage, TN, seven brothers: Levearn (Eula) Towels of Somerville, TN, R.V. (Annie Ruth) of Astoria, NY, James F. (Lucille) Towles of Fisherville, TN, Colonius (Dottie) Towles of Oakland, TN, Freddie L. (Lois) Towles of Jamaica, New York, Michael E. (Geraldine) Towles of Hermitage, TN, Barry (Cathy) Towles of Gallatin, TN, six sisters: Helen Winfrey of Memphis, TN, Jean (Charles) Houston of Somerville, TN, Beverly (Bernard) Fulton of Goodlettsville, TN, Pamela Towles, Kathy Towles and Katrina Jimersom all of Hermitage, TN, one sister-in-law: Erma Towles of Somerville, TN and one brother-in-law: Jerome Puryear of Indianapolis, IN, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, a special friend: Bertha Terry, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Those who preceded him in death included: Ora L. Towles (wife), William Shepherd Towles (father), Viola Hunt Towles (mother), Clarice Harris (sister), Lois Hobson (sister), Fleecie Hunt (daughter), William Shepherd Towles II (brother) and George Edward Towles (brother).
