Johnnie Imogene Young Edmonds Warren was born on March 27, 1939. She peacefully departed to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the age of 82. Surrounded by family at her residence located at 25 Walter Stuart Loop in Whiteville, TN. Imogene fought a long, hard battle with Alzheimer’s.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Lea & Simmons Funeral Home, with Bro. Adrian Knipper officiating. Burial will follow at the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Rook Brown, Johnny Wesley Young and step-father, Russell Brown; her first husband and children’s father, Curtis Edmonds; her late husband, Eddie Warren; a daughter, JoAnn Thompson; son-in-law, Jimmy King and great-grandson, Bryce Landon Donahoe.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Greg) Freels, Laverne King, Tony (Janet) Edmonds all of Whiteville, TN, and Pamela (Jason) Macon Courtney of Humboldt, TN. She also leaves a legacy of love for her grandchildren Taylor Edmonds, Brian King, Bradley King, Joshua King, John Allen King, Daniel Donahoe, John Hunter Freels, Megan Henley, Kori King, Sarah Edmonds and Matthew Edmonds; her great-grandchildren, Cayden Donahoe, Dakota Beasley, Addylyne Donahoe, Caleb King, Madysyn Donahoe, Peyton, King, Whyttney Donahoe, Ian King, Andrew Norwood, Josie Kate Freels, Jasper Bryant, Rayleigh Davenport, Zander Donahoe, Kimarie King, Rosalie King, Greyson Davenport, Charlotte Edmonds and a precious one on the way.
Imogene loved her family and was very dedicated to them. She was a longtime bus driver for Haywood County School System. She loved each of her kids on board her bus, and they loved her with some even calling her Maw. She loved being outside working with her flowers and gardening. More than anything, she was the best Mother that God could have blessed us with.
Pallbearers for the service are Taylor Edmonds, Brian King, Bradley King, Joshua King, John Allen King, John Hunter Freels, Matthew Edmonds and Cayden Donahoe. Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Donahoe, Caleb King, Peyton King, and Ian King.
