Mr. Johnnie Edward "Ed" Elrod, age 79 passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 6, 2012 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Elrod was preceded in death by his parents: Johnnie Jefferson Elrod and Margaret Moore Elrod: four brothers: Thomas Elrod, Charlie Elrod, Harlen Elrod, Albert Elrod; two step brothers: Albert Lee Fisher and Richard Fisher; two sisters: Jessie Young, Nell Jones: three step sisters: Gladys Elrod, Vinitte Fincher and Marydell Simpson and two grandchildren: Patsy Fulbright and Gustus Watson.He is survived by his wife: Kay Elrod, Brownsville, TN, one son: Pete Elrod (Amy), Brownsville, TN; four daughters: Linda Parr and Francis Wylie (Mark) both of Covington, TN, Pam Mitchell (Charles), Murfreesboro, TN, and Patricia Wilbanks, Brownsville, TN; one half sister: Norlen Holland, Brighton, TN; two step sisters: Faye Lovelace, Brownsville, TN and Evelyn Simpson, Bolivar, TN; eight grandchildren: Kevin Martin, Becky Burge, Johnnie Mitchell, Tammy Neal, Edward Bond, Ricci Shoemaker, Summer Kendrick and Curtis Elrod and seven great grandchildren.
