John Franklin Wigington

Mr. John Franklin Wigington, age 89, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at 3:30 PM at Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN with Rev. Sammy Tillman officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. John Wigington was born on February 24, 1931, in Parkin, Arkansas to John Henry and Grace Jones Wigington. He was self-employed as a farmer and cotton ginner. He was very proud of serving his country in the Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Waddell Wigington of Brownsville, TN; one step-son, Shawn Parks of Brownsville, TN; one step-daughter, Brenda Testement of Oak Hill, WV and her two children and three grandchildren; one foster daughter, Rita Forsythe of Brownsville, TN and her two children and her three grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Louise “Patsy” Clark of Brownsville, TN, Janie Haynes of Brownsville, TN, Katie Maness of Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Jane Carvin Wigington and his second wife, Patricia K. Rogers Wigington; his parents, John Henry Wigington and Grace Louise (Jones) Wigington, and two sisters, Margie Howard and Judy Canerdy. Pallbearers for the service are: Shawn Parks, Ricky Dinkins, Tony Scott, Lane Lewis, Jr. West, and Richard Jameson. In lieu of flowers, memorial are requested to the charity of the donor’s choice. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
