John's Obituary John "J.W." Hendrix Jr., age 75, of Brownsville passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Hendrix was a member the First Assembly of God of Brownsville, a retired farmer, an auctioneer and a retired employee of the State of TN Forestry Service. He operated a produce stand, loved fishing and hunting, and enjoyed raising chickens, goats and hogs. EVERYONE loved Mr. J.W.'s sausage. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, August 15, 2014, and 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes in Brownsville, TN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 16, 2014, in the Chapel of Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes officiated by Bro. Gary Mitchell. Interment will follow in the Garden of Devotion in Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Chandler Hendrix; one son, Johnny (Connie) Hendrix III; three daughters, Lisa (John) Stechauner, Connie Self and Debra (Jeff) Jackson, all of Brownsville, TN; three brothers, Larry (Nancy) Hendrix, Allen (René) Hendrix and Mike Hendrix, all of Brownsville, TN; two sisters, Elizabeth (Junior) Forsythe of Hornlake, MS and Peggy (Lonnie) Porch of Brownsville, TN; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Hendrix Sr. and Vera Annie Morris Hendrix; two brothers, Franklin Hendrix and Donald Hendrix; and one sister, Marie Hendrix Todd. Pallbearers will be Michael Hendrix, David Hendrix, John Stechauner, Larry Hendrix, Mike Hendrix and Allen Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Porch and Lonnie Porch. The Hendrix family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
