Mr. Jimmy Gale Littlejohn, age 80, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Adrian Knipper and Bro. Grover Westover officiating. The burial will follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens with Bro. David Reeves officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in Brownsville, TN. Jimmy was born on February 21, 1940 in Tiptonville, TN to Howard Vernon and Gladys Littlejohn. He was self-employed as a truck driver for many years. He served in the Tennessee National Guard for 9 years. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He loved his family, never met a stranger, enjoyed making people laugh, enjoyed watching wrestling, provided for his family and wanted to make sure they were okay and had the essentials of milk, bread, toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, gas and oil in the vehicles. He was owner/operator of Jimmy Littlejohn Trucking, where he started driving an 18-wheeler at the age of 17 years old. He would have been married to his best friend for 54 years on December 30, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Littlejohn; one son, Shane Littlejohn (Jessica); one daughter, Gail Steele (Dewayne) all of the Koko Community; one brother, Tommy Littlejohn (Nancy) of the Tibbs Community. He leaves a legacy of 6 wonderful granddaughters, Hannah Littlejohn, Shelby Littlejohn, Vanessa Littlejohn, Ellington Steele, Elisabeth Steele, and Elaina Steele. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Vernon Littlejohn and Gladys Brigance Littlejohn. Pallbearers for the services are Greg Freels, David Littlejohn, Al Hughes, Randall Taylor, Donald Bruce, and Ricky Ellington. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Gene Stanley, Donnie Glover, Michael Meck, and Kevin Knipper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
