Jimmy's Obituary
Mr. Jimmy Franklin Craig age 77, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born November 21, 1938 in Crockett County to the late Frank Craig and wife, Rena Williams Craig. Mr. Craig worked for many years at Texgas in Bells, TN as well as farmed. He was known as a “Jack of All Trades” and loved working with hands and repairing things. Mr. Craig was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church where he and his wife were extremely active and he served as a Deacon for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Craig and a grandson, Robert Craig Williams.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Gail Bolton Craig; two daughters, Rita Williams and husband, Charles of Bells, TN and Tami Wells and husband, Joe of Jackson, TN; one sister, Bessie Cox of Bells, TN; other survivors include four grandchildren, Amy Mayfield and husband, William, Adam Williams and wife, Haley, Rebecca Williams and husband, Steve and Kirby Wells; two step-grandchildren, Kristin and Kaitlyn Mayfield and one great-grandchild, Lexie Williams.
Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Pigue, John Edwards, James Ritch, Blake Mitchel, James McCall and Lynn Reasons. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Ellington, Dan Williams and Buck Eskew.
Funeral Services for Mr. Craig will be conducted on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Walnut Hill Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Justin Moreland and Rev. Ronnie Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Craig family will receive friends at Bells Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
