Jimmy's Obituary Mr. Jimmy Bishop, age 71, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN. He was born in Henry County, TN on May 4, 1941, the son of the late Rev. William Bryan Bishop and Lucile Goodman Bishop ; he was also preceded in death by two brothers: John Bishop and Byran "Beetle" Bishop; three sisters: JoAnne Neely, June Dickerson, and Lucile Callahan. Mr. Bishop was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Rotary Club, the Brownsville Jaycees, a board member of the Brownsville Housing Authority, and a member of the Brownsville Moose Lodge. Mr. Bishop served as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1974-1978, proudly representing Haywood, Lauderdale and Crockett Counties. He also worked in the medical supply field with Southern Surgical Supplies and sold real estate with Richards Agency. Funeral services will be conducted under the direction of the Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Sammy Tillman and Dr. Phillip Cook officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Brownsville, TN He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Hay Bishop, Brownsville, TN; a son: Brad Bishop, (Kim Howse), Brownsville, TN; two daughters: Leigh Turnage, (Chris), Brownsville, TN, and Sherri Hoover, (Steve), Leawood, KS; three grandchildren: Lauren Lomax, (Lance), Colburn Bishop Hoover, and Avery Turnage.
