Jimmie Welch

Jimmie Welch, age 89, passed away peacefully at the Maplewood Health and Rehab Center in Jackson, TN, on Friday, November 22, 2024. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Bond Cemetery, on Bond Cemetery Rd. in Denmark, TN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. 

Jimmie was born on August 12, 1935, in Haywood County to his parents, James Goodloe Welch and Ramsey Lynn Hawkins Welch. He worked as a farmer in the area for many years. He loved the outdoors and will long be remembered as a very dedicated and hard-working farmer. He was so proud of his home and farm. He was a loving and caring man and loved his family deeply. 

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Kim Welch (James Avery); longtime companion, Barbara Sue Petty; one brother, Jarman Welch; one sister, Jane Welch Hopkins (Dickie). He leaves a legacy of love for his grandchildren, Amanda Ellington Murphy and Mason Ellington (Jessie). He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ramsey Lynn Welch; four brothers, Louis Haak, Jack Lee Haak, John Welch, Joseph Madison Welch; two sisters, Maryann Haak Merryman and Annie Ransey Welch Parham and one granddaughter, Kaylee Swain. 

The family has requested memorials be made to the Bond Cemetery Trust, c/o Bob Bond, 5236 Brownsville Hwy, Denmark, TN 38391.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
