Jessie Lee Austin

Jessie Lee was born on May 19, 1959, in Brownsville, TN to the late O.B. Austin and Martha Jenell Taylor Austin. He spent his life as a farmer in the area. He enjoyed camping and farming.  He loved operating the cotton picker. He was proud of his harmonica collection.  He was known by many friends as “Lee Lee”.  He was especially fond of his companion dog, Sadie. Family was important to him, and he greatly loved his grandchildren.

Jessie Lee is survived by his wife, Norma Faye Austin; one son, Chris Austin (Deana); one daughter, Jessica Elrod Witherspoon (Marcus); two brothers, Kim Allen Austin (Tina) and Billy Roe Austin (Charlotte); three sisters, Reba Nell Austin, Shelia Kay Austin and Janet Fay Tinsley; one brother-in-law, Ben Norris; seven grandchildren, Allison, Hayleigh, Trent, Rylee, Matthew, Sydney and Cooper.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Earl Austin; one sister, Betty Sue Norris, and one great-grandchild. 

Pallbearers for the service will be Chris Austin, Marcus Witherspoon, Trent Austin, Rylee Austin, Matthew Austin, and Cooper Witherspoon.  

The family has requested memorials be made to the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home, 1280 S. Dupree Ave., Brownsville, TN toward the funeral expenses.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
