Jerry C. Freeman of Bells, TN died unexpectedly July 27, 2009, with a massive heart attack. He was born December 7, 1938. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Dorothy J. Freeman of Bells; a daughter, Dana Freeman Woods and husband, Gerald, 2 grandchildren, Adam and Abby Woods, all of Stanton, TN; 2 step-sons: Brad Emison, Randy Emison and wife, Tammy, all of Bells; 1 step-daughter: Angelia Teague and husband, Charles, of Medina; 12 step-grandchildren: Nathan Emison, R.J. Emison, Randa Emison, Kasi, Kevin, Kody, and Kalin Kail all of Bells, Milt and Josh Legions both of Medina, Matthew Teague and Amber Cuthbertson, both of Humboldt; 2 great grandsons, Braylin Johnson of Bells and Dylan Cuthbertson of Humboldt; 1 sister, Betty Wilson of Bells; 1 brother, Bob Freeman and wife, Gail, of Rutherford; half sister, Nancy Haley and step-mother, Rosalie Freeman, both of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Swift Freeman and Flossie Freeman Tinker of Bells. Jerry graduated from Bells High School in 1959. He served in the United States Navy from 1959-1964. He retired from Tennessee Farmers Co-op in 2001 after 33 years of service. He has been employed with Bells Hardware since 1964. He attended First Baptist Church of Bells. Jerry was a wonderful husband, daddy, brother, grandfather, and friend. Jerry shared his charismatic personality with everyone he met. He derived great satisfaction from deeds he did daily for all he knew. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and business constituents. Visitation will be 5-9 PM, Wednesday, July 29, and 12-2 PM, Thursday, July 30, at Cypress United Methodist Church in Bells, TN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 30, at Cypress United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Cypress Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his step-grandsons, Milt Legions, Josh Legions, Nathan Emison, R.J. Emison, stepson, Randy Emison, and step-son-in-law, Charles Teague. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Pigue, Daniel Pigue, John Pigue, Jason Pigue, Roy Taylor, Scott Cole, Richard Burden, Larry Lonon, Joe Williams, and Harold Craig.
