Jean Chandler's Obituary
Mrs. Norma Jean Chandler Taylor age 83 and widow of Mr. Edward Taylor of the Holly Grove Community, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born March 5, 1934 in Dyer County to the late E.C. Chandler and Essie Wyrick Chandler. Mrs. Taylor was an LPN having retired from Spencer Medical Clinic. Music was her life as she started the children’s choir and was the choir director for many years at Providence United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen June Coleman.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by a brother, Jere Chandler and wife Ruth of Birmingham, Alabama; sister in law, Virginia Taylor of Bells, brother and sister in law, Arthur and Dottie Taylor of Bells as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Rob Kirts officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery. The Taylor family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 821 Providence Road Jackson, TN 38301 in memory of Mrs. Taylor.
