Jarah's Obituary Jarah Leah Emison, age 62, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, after a 19 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in San Antonio, TX to Clarence & Frances Simmons where he was stationed with the US Air Force. Jarah especially loved her church, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She touched so many lives in many ways. Her love for the Lord never wavered, and she was not ashamed of it. You knew that she was a Christian after spending just a few minutes with her. Everyone will miss that beautiful smile and encouraging word that was always there. Her last full time employment was as a budget analyst at the Defense Information Systems Agency in Arlington, VA, before retiring to Bells in 1998. After moving to Bells, Jarah worked part-time at the Farmers Gin and at the Bells Retirement Center. Jarah is survived by her husband of 16 years, Steven Emison of Bells; her children: Paul V. Simmons (Sabrina)of Manassas, VA; and Ruth F. (Sissy) Clark (Jeff) of Fredericksburg, VA; step children: Cheryl Emison, of Woodbridge, VA; Richard Emison (Mary) of Knoxville, TN; and Dennis Emison of Hamilton, VA; her mother, Frances Simmons of Lexington, KY; sisters, Connie Sanabria (Aryel) of North Port, FL and Della Prather (Buddy) of Lexington, KY; brothers, Allen Simmons of NM; and Curt Simmons of Lexington, KY; her mother-in-law, Virginia Emison; and sisters-in-law, Karen Emison, and Amanda Emison, all of Bells; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
