James' Obituary
Mr. James "Jimmy" Scott, age 64, passed away after his battle with Leukemia and CAD on Sunday, October 16, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents: James Clayton Scott and Mary Evelyn Bradford Scott. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a lifetime member of the DAV. He served in the Army Signal Corp. He was in the reserves for 16 years and he worked for the Corp of Engineers. He retired from the City of Jackson in 2008. He was well known for his charity work in Jackson and in Kentucky. He was awarded the prestigious "Kentucky Colonel" award for his charity work in the community. He has numerous awards from other worthy causes. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., in the Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes Chapel in Brownsville, TN under the direction of Brownsville Bells Funeral Homes with Bro. Kevin Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Wanda Scott of Henderson, TN. Together, they raised five children. Jeannine Hill of Austin, TX, Shannon Brooks of Henderson, TN, Natalie Alexander of Albany, Kentucky, Chris Urig of Lexington, TN, and Audrey Urig of Henderson, TN. He also has a granddaughter, Hannah Brooks of Henderson, TN and a great-granddaughter, Trista Urig of Lexington, TN. He is also survived by two sisters: Barbara Bush of Trezevant, TN and Teresa Goodrum of Dresden, TN. Visitation for the Scott family will be held from 5-7 PM, Friday, October 21, 2011 in the Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes Chapel, Brownsville, TN.
