James N. "Buck" Dancy, Jr.

Buck was born on March 3, 1956, in Haywood County to James N. Dancy, Sr. and Clara Lou Webb Dancy.  He worked as a livestock trader and a farmer. He will long be remembered as a people person who loved his family and his friends dearly.  He always loved riding horses and enjoyed going to horse shows and livestock sales. Family gatherings were important to him, and his favorite holiday was the 4^thof July. He was greatly loved by his family and will be missed.  

He was preceded in death by his father, James N. Dancy, Sr.; one daughter, Jessica Marie Dancy; two brothers, James Webb and Cleveland Turpin; four sisters, Carolyn Louise Elrod, Jan Bennett, Linda Lou Martin, and Dina Clara Dancy. 

He is survived by his mother, Clara Webb Dancy; four sons, Jamie Edward Dancy (Christal), Jack Nash Dancy, Joseph Lane Dancy, and Nicholas Evert Anthony; one daughter, Julia Louise Hoots (Timmothy Ryan); two brothers, Pete Dancy and Robert “Rooster” Dancy; three sisters, Mary Sue Evans, Judy Ann McNabb and Rose Lott. He leaves behind a great legacy of love for his 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers for the service will be Jack Dancy, Jamie Dancy, Timmothy Hoots, Bo Kee, Earl Webb, and Nicholas Anthony.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Noah Elrod and Timothy Ryan Hinnard. The family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Brownsville Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
