James Kendall Moore, age 92, passed away peacefully at his home in Brownsville, TN, on Thursday, September 17, 2020. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 3:00 PM, at Brownsville Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Jimmy Chapman and Bro. Larry Kendrick officiating. Following the burial, there will be a time of fellowship and remembrance at Kendall’s house, 928 Creekwood Drive in Brownsville, TN.
Kendall, aka KC, was born February 1, 1928, to Kolleen and Robert Moore in Bells,TN, where he grew up as the middle child of three sons. Kendall was a devoted husband and father, and faithful employee of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for over 40+ years. He was the sweetest and most joyful grandaddy and great grandpa, as well as a great pal, buddy and teammate. He was a community leader with a philanthropic heart and large personality! His motto was “it don’t cost nothing to have a little fun.” He was loved and respected by all those who knew him and will forever be missed by so many but none more than his adoring family. If he lovingly referred to you as his partner (pawt-ner), buddy, pal, sweet-thang, honey or darling (dah-lin), then you knew you were so loved by him. Kendall Moore put the “diggity” in Hot Diggity Dog. We will miss him!
He is survived by one son, Sonny Waddell (Betsy) of Brownsville, TN; one daughter, Betty Ann Beasley (Wayne) of Covington, TN; one brother, Alex Moore of Somerville, TN. He leaves a legacy of 6 grandchildren, Carla Lyles (Richard), Harvey Beasley (Debbie), Ashley Black (Claiborne), Angela Spencer (Nathan), Blake English (Jana), Brantley Young and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Waddell Moore; his parents, Robert and Kolleen Moore; one brother, Robert Moore; two sisters-in-law, Janie Moore and Martha Frances Moore.
Pallbearers for the service are Nathan Spencer, Powers Spencer, Claiborne Black, Harvey Beasley, Clay Black, Dr. Robert Rooks, Bradley Lavelle, Justin Beasley. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Hollen Spencer, Trevor Spencer, Dr. Clarey Dowling, Richard Lyles, Will Kenny Haynes, Willie Miller, Tommy Hughes, Jimmy Keathley, Michael Banks, Mike Gay, as well as his golfing buddies, his coffee shop buddies, fishing buddies, and neighbors.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101 or Kirkland Cancer Center, 720 W. Forest Ave. Jackson, TN 38301. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
