James "Hal"'s Obituary Mr. James Harold “Hal” Garvey, age 58 of Brownsville, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at his residence. He was born on September 5, 1957 in Memphis, TN to Betty Byrd Garvey. Mr. Garvey was a senior operator for Bodine Toyota of Jackson and a Veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Garvey is survived by his wife, Debbie Garvey of Brownsville; two sons Dustin Ross Garvey and his wife Marissa of Oakland, CA and Charles Torrey Naff III and his wife Linda of Brownsville, TN; one daughter Amanda Ruth Shinall and her husband Jeremy of Colorado Springs, CO; mother, Betty Byrd Garvey of Alamo; two brothers Danny Garvey and his wife Lisa of Alamo, TN and Eddie Garvey and his wife Elaine of Brighton, TN; two sisters Tammy Fleskes of Arlington, TN and Cindy Tomas of Bells, TN; Mr. Garvey leaves a legacy of three grandchildren: Brenna and Kiley Shinall and Carmen Naff. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mr. James Harold “Hal” Garvey will be conducted Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro.
