Jack Lynn Walden, Sr.

Mr. Jack Lynn Walden, Sr. age 87 passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home in Gates, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Trinity Cemetery in Nutbush, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Mr. Jack was a meek and kind man to his family. He was a hard worker and taught his kids the meaning of hard work. He served his country in the TN National Guard, was a charter member of Maranatha Baptist Church and was a tomato farmer for 30 years before he retired. He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Jackson Walden and a sister, Faye Gillespie. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faye Bain Walden, Gates, TN, two sons, Jack Lynn Walden, Jr. (Tilda), Gates, TN, Harvey Walden (Darlene), Jackson, TN, two daughters, Sally Diane Manuel, West Warwick, RI, Lee Anne Witmer (Tim), Joelton, TN, one brother, Cecil Walden (Jeanette), Tallahassee, FL, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maranatha Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 52 Woodville Rd., Ripley, TN 38063.
