Surrounded by her loving family, Ida Faye Heglar passed away on May 18, 2019. Ida Faye was born in Jackson, TN on October 9, 1937 to William Ray and Essie Mae (Crider) White. The youngest of three children, she spent most of her childhood in Humboldt, TN and fondly talked about her memories of growing up on Mitchell Street. She attended Humboldt High School where she met the love of her life, Charles “Hot” Heglar. She and Charles married on July 24, 1955 in Corinth, MS. They made their home in Humboldt, TN, and together they had two children, Charles, Jr. (“Chuck”) and Pam. Once their children grew up, Ida Faye and Charles adopted a little dog named Muffin who they lovingly adored. Throughout her lifetime, Ida Faye had many hobbies including playing card games with friends, bowling, traveling, and cooking for her family. As a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ida Faye often helped coordinate parties and events for her church family. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. Ida Faye and Charles were also very proud grandparents and great-grandparents. They could always be found cheering their grandchildren on at every sporting and theater event.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Ray and Essie Mae White, and her brother Bill White. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Charles Heglar; sister Maribelle White Laster; son Chuck Heglar, (Lisa), daughter Pam Hayes (Brian); her grandchildren Jake Heglar (Misha), Cari Travis (Michael), Tanna Heglar, Miller Hayes (Annie), Sally Norville (David), Matt Hayes, and Annabeth Hayes (Ryan). She also leaves her great grandchildren, Tyler Hayes, Lizzie Hayes, Trace Hayes, Ansley Jane Norville, Millie Heglar, and Henry Travis. .
Pallbearers are Jake Heglar, Michael Travis, Miller Hayes, Matt Hayes, David Norville and Ryan Dooley. The honorary pallbearers are Jerry Lovett and Tyler Hayes.
Visitation will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Humboldt on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 12:00pm-2:00pm with Funeral Services beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
