Howard Clinton Durham, Jr. age 72, of Ripley, TN, passed away on March 18, 2020, in the Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley, TN. There will be a private family service at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with burial to follow at Brownsville Memorial Gardens.
Howard was born in Brownsville, TN to Howard Clinton Durham, Sr. and Francis Dena Austin Campbell on March 23, 1947. He went to high school at Haywood High School and graduated in 1966. He worked several years Fulton Supply Co. and MTD. He enjoyed fishing and watching UT Vols Football.
Howard is survived by his three children, Elizabeth A. Ross (John) of Brownsville, TN, Howard L. “Bobby” Durham (Sylvia) of Ripley, TN, and Jennifer L. Cowan (Philip) of Cordova, TN. He leaves a legacy of five grandchildren, four bonus grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, seven bonus great-grandchildren, and one niece. He also leaves three aunts, Maryann Wells of Birmingham, AL. Minnie Kate Johnson of Brownsville, TN, and Pansy Castleman of Georgia and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard C. Durham, Sr, Francis Dena Austin Campbell, Howard L. “Buddy” Campbell, sister, Judy Wilkerson, brother, Jimmy Costello, nephew, Alan Wilkerson, great-grandchild, Nathan Holcomb.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to Diversicare of Martin, TN, Ripley Rehabilitation Center, and Lauderdale Community Hospital for their care.
