Helen Shaw

Mrs. Helen Jane Whitehurst Shaw, aged 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Jackson-Madison County Hospital.  Visitation for Mrs. Shaw will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church with funeral services to follow at 1 PM.   Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.  Mrs. Shaw was a teacher in Haywood County for thirty years and will long be remembered by those who knew her as a loving, kind, and gentle spirit.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Whitehurst, Sr. and is survived by her husband of 61 years, Mr. C. Battle Shaw, Jr., and two daughters Beth Tripp (Billy) and Jane Hayes (Warren).  Her survivors also include one brother, Mr. Bill Whitehurst (Susan) of Martin, Tennessee, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn J. Shaw, and one grandson, John Kase Hayes.  Memorials may be made to Zion Methodist Church, c/o Nancy West, 738 Sulphur Springs Road, Brownsville, Tennessee 38012.
