Gladys' Obituary Mrs. Gladys Marie Whitehead age 87, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born August 25, 1929 in Mississippi to the late Oscar Sanders and Melissa Thompson Sanders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Omer Lee Whitehead; son, Kenny Lee Whitehead; grandson, Heath Tritt; four brothers, Arlie Sanders, James Sanders, Thad Sanders and William Sanders; sister, Faye Williams and a son in law, Paul Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Tritt and special friend Jerry of Jackson and Kathy Smith of Alamo; sister, Dollie Deaton. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Ryan Tritt, Amy Hunt and husband Shea and Erika Tritt as well as three great grandchildren, Will Tritt, Logan Tims, Ashton Tritt and two step great grandchildren, Brayden Hunt and Blaine Hunt. Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Marie Whitehead will be conducted Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bells Funeral Home with Chad Tritt officiating. Burial will follow in Archer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Frog Jump. The Whitehead family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from Noon until the service hour.
