Gladys Johnson

Mrs. Gladys Johnson, age 69, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Crestview Healthcare Center in Brownsville.  Graveside funeral services will be held at Knights of Phythias Cemetery in Brownsville on Saturday, June 22, at 1 PM.  Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside at that time.   She leaves a legacy behind with 3 daughters, Sheryl (Jerry) Jelks, Debra Johnson, both of Brownsville, TN, and Ida Johnson of Nashville, TN.  Her life was blessed with 5 grandchildren including Demetrice Parker, Antonio Batey, Avis Swift, Lakesha Vaughn .  She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Gladys E. Johnson.  In addition, she had 5 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by 12 sisters and 8 brothers some of which include Thelma Delois Kinnes, Lavale (Daymond) Smith, Juanita, (Russell) Green, Stanley Buck, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents Blair and Ida Macklin, one granddaughter Gladys E. Johnson, sisters Delores Ann Glass and Erma Macklin.   In addition to her family, she leaves behind a very special friend, Samuel Hamilton, a special friend of the family, Ira Dixon, and a very special nephew Alford Macklin.
