Gilbert Evans

Gilbert Evans, age 64, a resident of Friendship, TN, departed this life Friday, January 7, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born on April 23, 1957, in Haywood County to Perry and Collise Evans. He worked as a laborer for Pacific Manufacturing of Tennessee. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, and he will be greatly missed by them. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Evans of Friendship, TN; eight sons, Gilbert “Dewayne” Evans, Trevor Williams, Cameron Williams, Joseph Puckett, Jacob Puckett, Eric Baggett, Jr. Ryan Monaghan, and Michael Watson; six daughters, Chasity Rodriquez, Harley Thomason, Rayann Sommers, Gabrielle Williams, Sarah Baggett, and Candyce Eubanks; three brothers, Marshall Evans, Jerry Evans, and Thomas Evans; three sisters, Gloria Earnest, Ruby Chauvin, Jean Ann “Cracker” Baker. He also leaves behind his 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Evans and Collise Benard Evans, one daughter, Mary Martin and one sister, Gladys Clinton. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
