Geneva C. Johnson

Mrs. Geneva C. "Nina" Johnson, age 77, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Nina was truly the one to feed the sheep. Her love knew no limits, had no expectation of return, no judgement, and no wrath. She truly was a jewel from the crown that sits on the Father's head. We will miss her terribly, but the imprint she left on our hearts and souls will never be erased. Thank you Lord for the honor and privilege of having this special lady in our lives to guide and aid us through the hard times and love us all unconditionally. She is a true testament on how to love your neighbor as yourself. Nina was preceded in death by her parents: William and Cassie Watson Cates, one sister: Sue Pittman and one brother: Clayton Cates. She is survived by her husband: Billy Johnson, Brownsville, TN, two brothers: Lynn Cates, Brownsville, TN, and Danny Cates, Whiteville, TN, one sister: Linda McIntyre, Memphis, TN, nieces and nephews that she called her own kids: Keith McIntyre, Timothy Pittman, Karen and Terry Hunt, Carlton Pittman, Tammy and Tracy Bell, Robby and Lindsey Cates, Kevin Cates, Andrew and Lauren Stewart, Chris Stewart, Johnathon Stewart, Dana Cates, Tommy Austin & children, Vida Rojas & children, Christy Wilson & children and April Derrick & children, great nieces and nephews that she called her grandchildren: Russ Cates, Jordan Cates, Ryan Bell, Nathan Cates, Jayme and Blakely Stewart.
