Gary Denevan, age 65, who was nicknamed, "Flyboy," passed away at his home in Stanton, TN on March 9, 2025. He was born on October 3, 1959, in Memphis, TN, to his parents, Leonard Patrick Denevan and Betty Jean Wolfe Denevan. A true aviator at heart, Gary dedicated his life to the art of crop dusting—his passion for flying soaring as high as his spirit.

Throughout his career, Gary earned the respect of many within the agricultural community. His skills as a crop-duster were widely used in the area. Flying was not just a profession for Gary; it was a calling that defined much of who he was.

Outside of his work, Gary possessed a zest for life that was reflected in his many hobbies and interests. He was an avid hunter, who loved spending time outdoors. He was a dedicated gun collector and one who enjoyed riding motorcycles and the freedom that came with the open road.

Gary is survived by his loving mother, Betty Jean Wolfe Denevan of Wynne, AR; two sons, Cody Denevan and his wife Chelsie, who reside in Brownsville, TN, and Shane Denevan and his wife Tara, of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Jamie Kunath of Truman, AR; one brother, Ron Denevan of Brownsville, TN. Additionally, he was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren, Cadence, Caralee, Brody, Lyla, Braxton, Gage, Kailynn, and Kylee. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Patrick "LP" Denevan, and his sister, Linda Phillips.

The impact of Gary's life will be felt by all who had the privilege to know him, and his spirit will forever soar in the hearts of his family. The family has chosen cremation and there are no services scheduled. All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
