Garey Anthony Ballard

Garey Anthony Ballard, age 72, a resident of Fort Smith, AR, and a former resident of Brownsville, TN, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Ben Cowell officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. The Interment will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the West TN State Veterans Cemetery in Germantown, TN. 

Garey was born on November 27, 1951, in Columbus, OH to Luther Ballard and Mary Ann Ballard. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a proud war veteran. He worked as a computer technician for Temple Inland. He loved everything about computers and was extremely knowledgeable when it came to technology. He loved being outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing and treasure hunting. He also was a collector of coins. Later in life, he especially enjoyed spending time in the mornings on the porch with his dogs. 

He is survived by two sons, Heath Ballard of Fort Smith, AR and Tony Ballard of Memphis, TN; one brother, Dannie Ballard of Brownsville, TN, and two grandchildren, Brayden Ballard and Tristan Ballard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Ballard and Mary Ann Ballard.
