Earnest Fletcher Lewis, 73 of Brownsville, TN was ushered into the presence of God on the evening of March 5, 2014. His long battle with cancer is over, and he fought a good fight. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Janet Marbury Lewis, Brownsville, TN, two children: LaRita Lewis Gillispie (Jim), Mt. Juliet, TN and Stephen Fletcher Lewis (Angie), Franklin, TN, four grandchildren, Lewis James Gillispie, Grace Frances Gillispie, Sara Katelyn Lewis and Hunter Fletcher Lewis, his brother, Larry Lewis and sister-in-law, Leigh Lewis. Fletcher was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ollie Lewis, his sister, Billie Harden and his brother, Leslie Lewis. Fletcher was a licensed contractor and owner of Lewis Construction Company. He had a heart for God, his family, children, and animals. He was an avid fisherman with a great appreciation for the outdoors. He was a deacon at Poplar Corner Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he was in the Army National Guard, a baseball coach, Shriner, Mason, Scottish Rite Freemason, and RA leader at church. His family loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, March 7, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. and Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
