Evelyn Marie Smith April 24, 1939 - January 10, 2017 Mrs. Evelyn Marie Baxter Smith age 77 of Brownsville, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in Tennova Regional Hospital in Jackson. She was born April 24, 1939 in Madison County to the late Milton Baxter and Lessie Hampton Baxter. Mrs. Smith was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Franklin Smith; two brothers, Warner Baxter and Jack Baxter; sister, Addellery Seay; grandchild, Jenny and a great grandchild, Cheyene. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Smith Jones and husband Willie of Brownsville; sons, Steven Baxter and wife Cheri of Dyer County and Mannie Smith and wife Amanda of Alamo; brother, Jim Weeks of Texas; sisters, Cindy Rushing of Cookeville and Bessie Demski of Michigan. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, Stephanie, Bubba, Joseph, Tyler, Michael, Jeremy, Jessica, Destiny, Charity and Philip as well as grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Williams, Charlie Jones, Robert Jones, John Adams, Jerry Evans and BJ Johnson. Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Smith will be conducted Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Brownsville Funeral Home with Bro. Grover Westover officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. The Smith family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Brownsville Funeral Home, 107 S.
