Evelyn Lee Davis

Evelyn Lee Cole Davis, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023, surrounded by her adoring family.  Services will be conducted on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. Graveside at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Ron Davis officiating.

Mrs. Evelyn was a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church.  She loved teaching her Sunday School Class and continued up until the point of her health deteriorating and she was no longer able.  She was a homemaker, gardener, and baby-sat children through the years.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 55 years, Mr. George P. Davis.

She leaves a legacy of two sons:  Tony Davis, Winn Davis (Maryann); and one daughter:  Jan Prine (David) of Brownsville, TN; one brother:  Gill Kendrick (Judy) of Humboldt, TN; 10 Grandchildren:  Brad Davis (Trish), Mary Evelyn Overton, David Prine (Ollie), Stephanie Lewis (Steve), Winston Davis (Nikki), Jessica Stevenson (Bucky), Jessie Rosales, Kristin Davis, Josh Howard, Daniel Howard (Kim); and 20 great-grandchildren:  Will Davis, Nate Davis, Sophie Overton, Sadie Overton, Katie Lewis, Harrison Lewis, Will Prine, Madelyn Prine, Jamison Prine, Jaylen Stevenson, Balley Stevenson, Kayla Davis, Karley Davis, Madalyn Davis, Colton Rosales, Lucas Rosales, Elaina Rosales, Elijah Howard, Kenley Howard, and Crisslyn Howard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the charity of the donor’s choice.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
