Etta's Obituary
Mrs. Etta Sappington Hunt age 86 of Alamo, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 in Bells Assisted Living.
She was born October 23, 1930 in Gibson County to the late William Wade Sappington and Margaret Pitt Sappington. Mrs. Hunt was a member of Alamo First United Methodist Church where she was active in United Methodist Women, former Sunday School teacher and in her younger years active in the Boy Scouts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joe Harold Hunt and a brother, William Sappington.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by four sons, Dr. Joe Wade Hunt and wife Cynthia of Ripley, Mark Warren Hunt and wife Heather of McKinney, Texas, Dr. Bennett Hunt and wife Lisa of Alamo and William E. Hunt of San Diego, California; sister, Margaret Bunnell and husband Nelson of New Concord, Kentucky; step sister, Anna Pickard of Crossville. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Robert Wade Hunt, Walter E. Hunt, Hannah Hunt, Meredith Hunt and Libby Hunt as well as three great grandchildren, Sophie Hunt, Lucy Hunt and Caroline Hunt.
Serving as pallbearers are James Bushart, Phil Davis, Walter Hunt, Steve Young, Raymond Neal and Jerry Escue.
Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Sappington Hunt will be conducted Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. noon in the Sanctuary of Alamo First United Methodist Church with her grandson, Minister Wade Hunt and the Pastor, Rev. Justin Ramer officiating. Burial will follow in Oakview Memorial Park. The Hunt family will receive friends on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
